Car benefit is calculated as a percentage of the list price of the vehicle when new. The percentage used is based on the CO2 emissions of the vehicle. The percentage applied will also vary depending on whether the vehicle is a qualifying low emission vehicle or a zero emission car.

Fuel Benefit

Where free fuel is provided to the employee with a company car then the fuel benefit is calculated as a percentage of a fixed amount. The percentage is the one calculated when using the car benefit above and the fixed amount for 2015/16 is £22,100.

Van Benefit

Employees provided with a van that they use privately are subject to a taxable benefit of £3,150 and where fuel is provided an additional benefit of £594 will apply.
